Acclaim was founded by David Woods in 1982 which is where Acclaim Handling history began. Based in Purfleet Essex the business has expanded to employ nearly 200 people. A policy of keeping borrowing to a minimum has meant that growth has been organic and that customers can rely on a financially sound well-managed business.
Over the years the company has developed a significant resident and field-based servicing team coupled with comprehensive repair and refurbishment operations and a bespoke training division.
More recently the company has extended its geographical reach with Regional Centres in Norwich, Spalding, Rugby, Rochester, Reading and Liverpool and covers the rest of the UK and Ireland through its service partners.
We are very proud to have been the first Independent UK Forklift Company to be awarded the coveted ISO18001 Certificate in 2011, and the ISO45001 Certificate in 2019, under the auspices of the BSI, for Health & Safety.
On March 4th 2017, Acclaim Handling was awarded the UK Forklift Dealer of the Year award by our industry governing body, The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) for our contribution to the industry. This achievement will forever go down in Acclaim Handling History.
Acclaim has always been a strong supporter of the Fork Lift Truck industry and indeed has had a continued investment in the Acclaim Handling Engineer Apprenticeship Scheme which it started in 1995.
Acclaim Handling history is built on service to its customers and as economic conditions become more difficult, customers will continue to seek first-rate suppliers that they can rely on and trust. We monitor costs carefully for our customers who benefit through our KPI reporting and have shown time and time again that our well-managed approach delivers whole lifetime savings. The challenges we face including energy efficiency, conservation and resource depletion will change what has been a conservative industry forever. We will be in the forefront of these changes bringing value for money solutions and innovation to our customers in the years ahead.
