UK Forklift Dealer of the Year

On March 4th 2017, Acclaim Handling was awarded the UK Forklift Dealer of the Year award by our industry governing body, The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) for our contribution to the industry.

The FLTA Awards for Excellence 2017 were presented across 10 categories by the noted broadcaster and raconteur Gyles Brandreth. This was an inaugural award and we are proud to have beat off stiff competition vying for this prestigious honour.

The FLTA summarise the credentials the judging panel of experts look for when selecting the UK Forklift Dealer of the Year as follows:
‘UK Dealer Member of the Year Award presented to the fork truck dealership deemed to have provided the most innovative or appropriate solution to a customer’s particular materials handling requirements, this Award recognises the team which has best demonstrated a commitment to service; putting the customer at the heart of its business, and embodying the FLTA’s core principles of productivity, integrity and safety’.

Health & Safety is of paramount importance. Acclaim Handling has always operated a Quality Management System and was one of the first dealers to achieve BS 5750 accreditation. In 1994, Acclaim adopted the new IAO9001:2008 standard. Acclaim is currently in the process of migration into the new international standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015. In 2012 our business achieved its OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation through BSI, the first independent forklift company to achieve this.

Achieving this accolade as the UK Forklift Dealer of the Year would not have been possible without the contribution of our founder and former Chief Executive, David Woods who recently passed away. For 35 years, David dedicated his life to the successful growth of Acclaim Handling and his presence lives on within the business. Our business also owes this success to our entire workforce who all contribute to our company ethos: ‘Success built on Service’
